Had such a wonderful time at Realm Makers. The new Had such a wonderful time at Realm Makers. The new Expo format this year brought in new types of creatives with all kinds of Christian multimedia, and it was SO awesome. (I should have taken more pictures...) This year I was only there for a much shorter time as an attendee and panelist, and to show of the new baby of course. 😘 Had so much fun hanging out with dear friends I rarely get to see. Many fun and meaningful conversations were had, and many exciting plans for the future. God is so good! Flying out for Realm Makers in just a hot minute! Flying out for Realm Makers in just a hot minute! This year is the first time it will be a gaming expo in addition to a writer's conference! LET'S GO!! Couldn't be more excited to see many old friends and colleagues, fellow authors, and even voice actors from Veggie Tales (Larry the Cuke, anyone?) and Adventures in Odyssey. It's not to late to grab your ticket! First time bringing my whole family too, including the new baby. Come and say hi in the vendor hall on Saturday and get your book signed! I'm quite sneaky but can probably be found near the Oasis Family Media / Enclave Publishing / Sky Turtle booths. Two of my great-grandmothers—from both sides of Two of my great-grandmothers—from both sides of my family—were legendary gardeners. I grew up hearing tales that their homes were engulfed in green life, flowers, fruits, and vegetables. My ancestors sailed from Oldenburg in the 1800's—before it was Germany—but they didn't arrive in the United States. They immigrated to the Republic of Texas. Generations later, we're still on the same cattle ranch and pecan orchard we're so blessed to have: Pecan Valley Farm & Ranch. So you might understand why agriculture is in my blood, and it's been a dream of mine to grow my own produce organically on my own homestead and sell at the farmer's market. That dream came true last week with my new brand, Pecan Valley Heritage. If you're ever in La Grange or Giddings, Texas, or maybe even Bastrop, you might just see me at the farmer's market.
