Teravyn Aetherswift’s obsession with root beer was inherited from my great grandmother, Alma, who always had a mini fridge stocked full of A&W root beer.

I was every bit as loving and possessive of the stuff until I stopped my habitual coke drinking for health reasons. (In Texas, every carbonated beverage is called ‘coke,’ m’kay?) But if I ever treat myself to a coke, you can bet it’ll be that sweet sarsaparilla.

Alma was also a strategist and a gamer. Yes, you read that right: my great grandmother was schooling noobs in her 80’s. She was a pro at every card game known to mankind, and quite possibly where I get my love of Hearthstone and every other strategy game.
