Finally he pulled out onto the road and hit the accelerator harder than was necessary. Where to grab dinner? There was the one with the good noodles. No, he thought. Then she’ll make me eat the vegetables that come with it.
The neon red sign of the Chicken Palace blurred closer. Fries count as vegetables, right?
— Darien’s completely rational thought process in Sentinel
The Chicken Palace in Sentinel is inspired by Chick-Fil-A.
I love that they fry their chicken in peanut oil, making me feel slightly less guilty for eating fast food… but more importantly, what they stand for as a Christian organization.
Can you imagine how much potential profit they lose by remaining closed on Sundays, so their employees can enjoy a restful Sabbath? And I’m sure we all remember how they were attacked a couple years back for standing up for the Biblical definition of family in 2012 (and took serious heat for it).
But unlike Chicken Palace, employees at Chick-Fil-A are the best… and I’m pretty sure they don’t have SIC readers, either.
